We believe in sharing ideas and spreading the word on small businesses that we personally love. During this lockdown we have found ourselves flocking to a number of wonderful people and brands who are generously sharing their positive outlooks, feel-good recipes and inspiring projects. Here are a few of our favourites…
MIMI + ODDHUR THORISSON
We are inspired by the daily deliciousness of Mimi’s old school cooking along with the visual delights and stories of their Italian life by her husband Oddhur (also a Conde Nast contributor)
“A wonderful pasta recipe that we love and I want to share with you tonight.
Simple, a few ingredients, easily improvised. Roast cherry tomatoes with a few garlic cloves, olive oil and rosemary for about 20 minutes or until golden. Heat a sauté pan with olive oil, a few slices of garlic (optional, we just love garlic!), a hint of chili. Sauté the roast tomatoes, add a ladle or two of cooking pasta water until it bubbles and thickens. Add the pasta (I used orecchiette), mix everything together. Serve with stracciatella, mozzarella or burrata.” Mimi
Local Cape Town brand Love Milo has been putting together some lovely craft projects to do at home with or without the kids. From vegetable dyeing fabrics, to homemade playdough; they also have the most They also have the most beautiful cooking ideas that end up looking like food worth framing!
Check out their ’21 day Creative’ in their saved stories for lots of inspiration.

“The response from the Anxiety Blend yesterday was so big that I have decided for this entire week
I will post a blend everyday. Serenity blend is my most popular and as it is similar to anxiety with a few added extras, it will be easy to create if you have the ingredients.” Nics
